Here are a couple of updated photos. The fish was released into the display after 2 days of in-tank isolation. It seemed to settle in nicely and began to eat after about 24hrs. This is a confusing animal as much of the time it hovers in one spot head down frantically fluttering its tail as if it had a serious swim bladder problem, then I'll walk away from the tank and it will be swimming perfectly horizontal to the other side without effort. For no apparent reason it then scurries back to its spot and resumes the head stand. I'm not quite sure what to think. It eats mysis etc. with gusto so this is a good sign. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Sorry I haven't gotten around to an update. The bottom line is that the fish is doing extremely well. It eats frozen mysis greedily and seems to ignore and is ignored by other tankmates. Early indications are that if you can acquire a healthy individual, the husbandry requirements are pretty straightforward.
