Right now,I have an Achilles in qt but no room to qt another one,can I split the tank and get another tang and introduce them together or am I done with tangs? It's a 20g high Qt.
Achilles Tangs are extremely active, aggressive and delicate fish. I think attempting a second Tang in a 90g. would be asking for trouble.... big trouble.
I'm the impatient reefer...I actually dripped my first fish convict tang(one of the hardest to introduce to the already established with other tang tank I think their is) and after the 25min drip put him in only to find out because of the dark that I couldn't see my blueline grouper was tearing him a new(BEEP)...Long story short the next day he was a little ripped up but eating and the following day(today) his fins were connecting back...If you got the fish from a good place, how long did you plan on qt ing him...
I'd worry more about getting him to eat...
It's been a month since he's been in there in qt,he's eating fine.Didn't want to take a chance of him getting sick in the main tank.Treating him with copper right away and now he's great.Ready to gnce he's in the main tank,I'm afraid to add another tang for the simple fact he won't like him in there with him.I'll just leave it just for one tang.
rule of thumb for achillies are to have a lot of flow. if you dont, you shouldnt bother. depending on the type of other tang should determine the rest. hypo salinity usually works better with these fish and just an fyi they are vegitarians. remember that when you are feeding him. they are a great fish. if you are that worried dont bother adding another tang. another option is to re do the rockwork in your tank if that can be an option.

Plenty of flow with two hydor#4's and for extra flow, got the return dual nozzle.Already know about their diet. Most tangs love veggies anyway. It's important in their diet.
