My friends this is one of the coolest fish that I have encountered in a while. Please correct the name it may be a bit off. But, if you like it, there is another one available at a REAL NICE new LFS in Huntington, Aquarium Design Network, Thanks Jarred,,,,

It looks SO much better out of the bag.The white on really stands out.

If you go to get the brother, tell them you saw it on MR ,

i guess we should do research be4 we buy:)

Exallias brevis
pw71887sailfin_blenny_fiji.jpg

Quick Stats: Leopard BlennyFamily: Blenniidae
Range: Indo-Pacific
Size: Up to 6 inches
Diet: Omnivore
Tank Set-up: Marine: Coral or rock, plants
Reef Compatible: With caution
Tank Conditions: 72-78?F; sg 1.020-1.025; pH 8.1-8.4
Minimum Tank Capacity: 50 gallon
Light: Medium
Temperament: Semi-aggressive
Swimming Level: Bottom
Care Level: Difficult
Reproduction: Egg Layer

The Leopard Blenny is also referred to as the Leopard Rockskipper, Shortbodied Blenny, Sailfin Blenny, or Honeycomb Blenny. The body is white with a mottling of brown.
A 50 gallon or larger reef aquarium with small-polyped stony corals as a food source is ideal. It is territorial over its food source, and will usually find a crevice close by to defend its food source from members of its own species or other food competitors.
It is difficult to entice the Leopard Blenny to eat in an aquarium, and therefore, should only be kept by very experienced aquarists who can supply its special diet of stony coral polyps. It may begin to eat occasional frozen herbivore preparations, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, or mysid shrimp. If it does, it should be fed three times per day.

Reefman, where were you when I needed you. Word to the wise, I mean , word to the dumb, "research b4 we buy". Needless to say, 3 hours later, he is now safe in my sump. Will be going back to where he came from this week. It is a freakin nice fish though.:DarthVade

Exallias brevis (Kner 1868), Leopard Blenny. Indo-Pacific; Red Sea to Hawaiian, Marquesas Islands. To almost six inches in length in the wild. Obligate feeders on live coral polyps. Definitely NOT reef safe. Still offered on pet-fish markets on occasion. A male in Oahu, Hawai'i female at a marine wholesalers in L.A. starving...

The wholesaler had gotten in Africa and Haw. and didn't know what it was. It looked like a Hawiian Blenny I have gotten several times in the past so I assumed ( I know) it was the same. Sorry for the screw up Brian. I put one in my 120 in my office that's almost all SPS :bigeyes2: but I haven't seen him touching anything. I'll keep you updated.
