I did some reading on this fish and it seems that most only eat whatever they get from sand sifting or pecking on live rock. Has anyone had success in them eating flakes or freez dried foods. My LFS had one and I bought it. It looks just like in the pictures and I rarely see them in any stores around here. Right now my tank has lots of critters since it was fallow of fish for 4 weeks. But it is only a 10 gallon and will probably only provide a couple months of food for this fish.

As much as I love this unique fish, I consider this 1 a VERY HARD TO KEEP ALIVE organism. I have tried them many times but have failed due to competitive live rock feedings. From my experience I have NEVER seen a rainfords goby eat anything but from live rock. Good luck. Its a beautiful fish.

I frequently see them filtering the sandbed for stuff to eat, and nibble for things in some algae. I have seen them eat frozen food before, but it is extremely difficult for them to start eating frozen food, kinda like a mandarin, I wouldn't keep it in a 10g because there wouldn't be enough places to look for food. I had 1 in a 75g
