I like to have a plan for what fish I'm going to put in my tank so I have time to look for (or request gotten for me) the perfect one. When I upgrade from my 29g to a 40Br, I am going to add one more fish to my community, but I'm having a little trouble deciding what would fit in best.
My fish are (in order of addition):
1. Blue-Green Chromis
2. Clown Fairy Wrasse
3. Royal Gramma
4. Purple Firefish
5. Golden Midas Blenny
6. Yellow Assessor
I have a community tank, and I want to stay away from aggressive fish. Right now, my only problem is that my midas blenny occasionally harasses the firefish, but he hasn't done any damage and the firefish stays out of his sleeping hole and is a good eater, so I assume it's not stressing him too much. I'm hoping this stops when I upgrade to a tank with more surface area.
I know this is a large bioload, but my nutrients have been consistently low. I'm also keeping 90% LPS and softies, with the occasional easier-to-keep SPS (i.e. monti caps). I'm using an AquaC EV 120 skimmer (which I am keeping for the 40Br).
I am leaning towards a small flame hawk being my final fish (since my peppermint shrimp perished in my long absence), though I am also considering a yashia shrimp goby, a black clown (preferably mis-barred), or a swiss guard basslet.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for me? Something peaceful, colorful, and would be happy in a 40br (3ft by 1.5ft)? Any reason why any of these fish wouldn't be a good choice?
