Hello:

I have a pair of clowns, Ocalaris. They keep spawning, 2 days after the last batch of babies are gone, they lay another patch of eggs. Each brood is larger than the one before it. The problem here is that the male clown will not eat when tending to the eggs. He is such a devoted father and he would clean those eggs all day. The last 2 month he got very skinny and I am worried about him.

any advice?

Thanks

Yili

my clowns keep spawning too, but the father still eats :D Dont think there is anything you can do about it, and i'm sure the father wont starve to death (they love spawning, but if he starves to death that'll defeat the purpose to expanding the species)

I should be so lucky! My clowns are 6 years old and haven't mated a single time.

you could just try feeding the tank heavily the days between the clutches. maybe he'll gut load and bulk up.
