From the business side of this I have found that sometimes the actual collection location of a certain fish can be lost in the transit from collector to station to wholesaler to retail. A fish may be labeled as being from one place in order to fetch a bigger price when in fact it is just a normal specimen. Even if you know what you are looking at you may have problems properly IDing the fish in this respect. As the hobby expands and demand for newer and rarer fish keeps increasing at such a drastic rate the problems we face IDing our specimens are going to just get harder. Sometimes the difference in specimens from different locations might not be visual but whether the fish is hardier or not. Just my .02 on things I have picked up on.
