Currently only have a pair of ocellaris and a ywg. Would like to add a couple other reef safe fish and thinking of a blackcap basslet and maybe a flameback angel. The tank is presently a FOWLR but I plan to take it in the direction of a reef this year. The tank has about 50 llbs of LR with lot of overhangs and a few caves. Any problems with compatability? I'd introduce the basslet first and then the angel. TIA.

Personally, I'd forgo the Flame Angel if you plan to convert to a reef. I had one once and it bit everything in the tank. And it was really hard to catch to remove. Others have had success with them, but I did not.

Firefish would do well in this tank.

Not a flame angel but an African flameback, one of the pymy angels. I've heard that members of the argi complex are pretty safe reef inhabitants, but if not would certainly steer away from them as well. I'd thought of a firefish (purple) but had tried them years ago and never seemed to have luck, or they always hid. Appreciate the input!

Oh, I see. Yeah, Pygmies are pretty safe from what I've read. But i've never owned them.

I've always had good luck with firefish staying out in the open. Huh.
