I would like to thank you for taking the time to teach us several introductory items with in the Fish Husbandry Field. I had a blast learning something new and look forward to next week's session.
I agree with Joe. I learned a lot last week. Maybe even more since then. I started looking into nano's like you suggested. I like what I see, but now I have more questions. By the way, congrats on your engagement Jim. You must have had some day, with your teeth and all Looking forward to next week.
Here's a pic of my last nano, a 12 gallon...this tank along with a 7 gallon nano that I had on my desk at work for quite some time were the two easiest, most trouble free tanks I've ever set up.
All the stock, sand and rock were just transferred from a mature 150, which made things easier of course. That purple fish is an ORA, captive bred P. fridmani that lived in the 7 gallon at work for over a year.
That is one awesome tank. One of the best I've seen so far. If I can get this website to load up, could you look at this tank and let me know what you think of it? http://www.fishtanksdirect.com/index.as ... dID=1290nk of it. The tank I am thinking about is the 39g professional tank.
I'm not wanting an acrylic tank either for the same reason - scratches - but I think the tank I mentioned above is a glass tank with an acrylic sump/refugium. I don't think an acrylic sump should make a difference tho should it? Anyhooo, I went to the new LFS I mentioned the other day. He's still getting things arranged but it looks like he carries good stuff, Tunze etc... I did buy a couple of books to read up on some more. One is Marine Invertebrates by Ronald Shimek and the other is The Concientous Marine Aquarist by Robert Fenner. Good reading so far. By the way if you are intersted the new LFS is working on a website:reeffx.com. He thought he would get it up yesterday but the last I knew it wasn't up yet. Sorry for this being long.
