Came home today and was looking at my tank. Noticed that my convict tang was upside-down and stuck to the side of one of my Tunze 6100's. I was sure he was dead, but I immediately cut off the power of the tunzes and he swam away. He does have some significant damage done though and I don't know if he'll be ok or not. I can't get a picture to upload, but he has 4 horizontal indentations across his body where he was being sucked into by the tunze. He is still eating and swimming about the tank, but does seem a bit frightened and is not acting like himself. Other fish are not picking on him which is good. Is there anything I should be doing to nurse him back to health?

Also, has anyone ever heard of this happening before with Tunze's? I've had them for about 8 months with no probs, but this makes me nervous.

Seems to me like the fish might be a bit queak or sick. The tunzes do not produce enough suction to do that. My fish can swim against the current right in front, so i can't imagine how they would be sucked up. Keep an eye out on him, feed him good. Good luck!

I agree. I have 2 6100 and 2 6055 with 1 hippo, 2 yellows, and numerous other fish. It would have me believe that he is sick and was just floating around. time to quarintine him and medicate him. with what not sure. but he is sick
