The male of the species may change colors from white to deeper yellow before your eyes while it is displaying like this.

Hiroyuki, I do not have a picture, but in the evening, I occasionally see my specimen swimming quickly around the aquarium, and possibly displaying. It is not how you described, however. When I observe this, the blotches below the dorsal turn into a light purple color, and the whole fish is darker, but not yellow. Also, the dorsal fin stands up. Could this be described as "displaying"?

Thanks,
Kevin

Quite interesting !

I have never seen such purplish blothes, but yours seem to have a stress or show coloration of fear. I hope you to photograph the moment.

Thank you for your informing, kevin b.

I do not think it is showing fear, because of the way it is swimming around the tank. It seems as if the Wrasse is showing off.

I will try to get either a picture or a video up soon.

Kev, find a female for it :) When they do courtship rituals, it is a sight to behold.

I'll get pics of my new fairy wrasses online soon ;)

Well, I was looking in a holding tank, and before I found this guy, I saw a fish that appeared to be a female of this species. I was not totally sure, so I did not by both.

I'll keep looking.
