My male Rhomboid wrasses has died :( For the past three days, he was moping around very lethargic and jumpy at any movement. Today, he's disappeared completely.

Some months ago, the male Rhomboid lost its appetite completely and did not eat for at least 2 weeks straight. Then it slowly began to eat until it developed a regular appetite. However, as much as it ate, it never gained weight or grew like the other fish in the tank. I wonder if it had an internal parasite.

I'm not going to try to keep multiple Cirrhilabrus wrasses in this tank anymore. It is entirely possible that the C.earlei - who recently has become more aggressive in courting the female - stressed the male Rhomboid to the point of death.

RIP

Len,

I feel very sorry for that.
I too just lost my best fish in my tank at present, the same rhomboidalis, male, 11cm. It was a very handsome and did well but another fish seems to have a serious trouble on him.

Gorgeous specimen, Hiroyuki. Sorry to hear about your loss too. Mine never got that fat even though it ate regularly. The female, though, is very very fat in my tank. I wonder if she will turn male.
