I have a single Maroon in my tank for over a year now and obviously she is a full grown female. I read that you can introduce a smaller maroon and that they can actually pair up. anyone have any suggestions or experiences doing this? :help:

Make sure you get a maroon that comes from a tank with multiple maroons. Then make sure you do NOT buy the biggest one (look for the smallest). Your odds of getting a male that way will increase exponentially. Hopefully your current female will accept the new addition as her 'girl toy' ;)

ditto

You want a small one, and the colors should be bright. They start to darken up when they turn female. Maroons are hard to pair up, but not impossible.

Good luck. I got a new maroon for my esisting one and they are still fighting even when isolated by breeder net. Now I start to think the new one is actually a female.
