I show here an underwater photograph taken in its natural habitat in the sea by an unknown diver in Japan.

I have NO idea what kind of animal (perhaps a moving object, but apparently not a dressed cat) it is. Could you tell me its name, behavior, size, etc. ?

Could it be a fishing lure of some sort?

You should submit it to Advanced Aquarist for their "what is it" game. People usually have some clever answers...

It looks like some sort of Planarian or worm. It could also be dirt stuck to the slime off of a coral floating in the water. Interesting pic though. wish i had your camera.
