hello all!! new to this site but wanted to hear from anyone thats had one of these fish and their experiences ! ive had mine goin on 2 months now and have been told to buy a lotto ticket cause im lucky to keep him alive for so long !!! but he eats everything i put into the tank (mainly raw live clam on the shell) !! hard for me to believe im that lucky to keep one of these fish when so many others couldnt !! signed confused

I have kept this species for over three years now. In my experience, if you can get a small speciment (<3") your chances of weaning them on to captive foods is very good. Make sure you try to get it feeding on other foods, not just clams. Live black worms (NOT Tubiflex!), frozen Hikari brand mysis, frozen copepods etc ... will result in a more varied nutritional profile.

yea its pretty small right now !! i feed it sweetwater,mysis,nori(kinda surprised it eats it but doesnt stop eating it) and it eats the live pods in the am when they run for cover when the light come on !! so how long was you able to keep yours alive??
