Came home today and noticed my BristleTooth Tang developed a fungus on his side fins. Mostly a Zoo dominated tank with a few other fish.
Should I treat the tank immediately or wait a while and see what progresses. What do you treat with ?

Wierd because it is only on one side

if you can get a pic it would help a lot but it might not be a fungus but marine velvet, a parasite that looks fuzzy. Might be time for a U.V. if you don't have one yet. Either way there are a few ways to combat it but the first job is figuring out exactly what it is.

If it's not Ich, look at Lymphocystis or Cryptocaryon in google see if that matches what you have.

Not really, does it look like little salt specs on his fin? Or is it like cotton?

could be ich but Lympho is a possibility. Brine is a pointless food unless it contains spirulina or vitamins or amino acids or etc. Past the first 8hrs of a brine shrimps life they have 0 nutritional value they are like candy more than anything. Should also be feeding some seaweed or spirulina flakes to help balance out all that protein. Also, all their fins are swimming fins.....or they wouldn't have them but the fins in question are pectorals. If it's ich and u can get him out than try and QT him for treatment and if you haven't already, get the UV.
