I'm currently cycling a 125gal tank that will be a fish only predator tank. I have my heart set on a Clown Trigger as one of the 3-4 fish that I plan on keeping in this tank. I've read alot about this fish and I do realize it is a VERY aggressive fish. Some have even told me that I will have trouble keeping any other fish in the tank with it. I really would like to hear from anyone who has had one for some time or anyone who knows of someone who keeps a good sized Clown Trigger with success........or not.

What would be good tank mates for this terror?

Thanks,
Dave

I am wrestling with the same decision........well almost the same. I already have a Niger in my 100 gallon that does not bother any of my fish or inverts. (see tank setups) Now I have a 50 breedwer that I want to place another small trigger in. Eels are a good bet..thats about it.....for a mean trigger.

:) HEY OLD SALT,
ABOUT THAT CLOWN TRIGGER, YES THEY ARE AGGERSIVE, BUT TOU CAN PUT OTHER FISH WITH THEM. TANGS, ANGLES, GROUPERS,
LARGE WRASSE AND LARGE CLOWNS ARE GOOD EXAMPLES. SHARKS, STING RAYS,SMALL FISH,CRABS, AND SHRIMP ARE NOT. EVERYTHING WILL BE A TOUCH AND GO EXPERINCE, BECUSE IT WILL DEPEND ON THE TRIGGERS PERSONALITY!! ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE,AND STRANGER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED. THE NIGER TRIGGER IS A "REEF SAFE" TRIGGER AND WILL HAVE A MORE EVEN TEMPER. 8)
