Whats the rule of thumb on keeping 2 or more eels together?
I have an 80 gallon tank I'm thinking of making into a FO aggresive.
Anyone have any good stocking ideas?
So far I only have 1 Clown Trigger at 1 inch.
I was think about moray eels and Lionfish.
I'm looking at snowflakes. I would get them at the same time and would get similar size. I was watching feeding time at my LFS and they had 2 snowflakes in the same tank. One eel got 2 feeders and the other one didn't get any. I guess it got mad so it bit the other snowflake.
Apparently they need better table manners.
I'm worried that type of agression would be normal.
HI:
to my knowledge there is no rule of thumb for multiple moreys. My experiences says...morays w/ pointed teeth eat fish and other morays, bigger moreys will eat smaller morays, and all small fish are food.
I guess if i were you i would get 2 similar sized morays, and feed them individually.
If you want "safer morays" think pebbletooth morays, like snowflakes, chainlink, or zebra. These will all get along, they don't eat many fish(will eat all crustaeans), and won't attack your fingers, IMO zebras are the safest )
Expect the needletooth morays to pick off fish.
So what type of eels?
