My blue jaw has been pretty reclusive since I got him around 5 months ago. He's finally come out of his shell. He now terrorizes my Naso, who WAS king of the castle up until last week.
Once they realize they have teeth, they come around.

Yeah,he'll come out for a bit and swim around but any sudden movements from the other fish,he goes into the cave.Took my pygmy angel over a month to start eating so I guess he'll be alright.
mine is the same way,my parents got one and yesterday they scared each other(fish and mom),anyway the fish jumped and had it not been for the hood it would of jumped out.i read that they will jump for like the first month you have them.other than that there very shy and can become easily bored(wierd),but once they get up and out thats when they start showing there affection for there owners and thus becomes that underwater puppy.good luck as im going through the same thing you are, today makes three days.oh she chooses to be more active when the actinics are on.ill keep ya posted.if i come up with any techniques ill let you know.
