ive had them for 1 month they where even in same tank when i bought them.no scars ripped fins never see them nipping at each other .they go side by side wiggle their tails then swim off together

yeah usual when they do that they are fighting. mine does that to my maroon clown sometimes but she is no match for my maroon.

Tangs don't bite when they fight. They use the little scalpels in their tails to fight.

I agree - this is aggressive behavior! Two tangs alone will not create a shoal (these can be shoaling fishes), but rather will create a stand-off - you said that they are always at it, and that makes sense - they are in each other's space all the time! If you can separate them, they'll both have a better chance of thriving. As it is, they are probably spending more energy fighting and being stressed out over the next battle that doing anything else- including eating!
