how long for a christmas wrasse to come out?

Hi guys, I know some of you guys had a christmas wrasse before. I was wondering how long it took for them to come out of hiding. I bought one about 3 days ago and still no sign of him. I checked around the tank to make sure he didn't jump (tank is covered).

Though it is not uncommon for them to bury themselves for a day or 2, 3 is not a good sign. Have you looked at night when the light s are off? Sometimes their time clocks are screwed up and it takes them a week or so to adjust.

I looked around at night time and I have not seem him.. man I hope its a live

doesn't sound good. Mine never really hid at all. Are there other wrasses in the tank? Stupid question here, but... have you been feeding the tank? Do you have sand for it to hide in?

That's a long time for that particle type of wrasse to be hiding in the sand. They're usually out in the open more and less hiding in the sand. I would check around the tank as it probably jumped out.

I lloke aorund the tank again but no sign of any dried up fish.. I feed my tank pretty heavy everyday (frozen mysis, home made frozen food, flakes, pellets) so I was hoping I would see him during the feeding times but no show so far. man I guess I would not get another wrasse...
