anyone purchase from DD? has it lived more than 6 months?

i had one feeding for over 6 months then it just stopped eating and died a week later. I tried all sorts of different foods and it was in a reef tank. Pencil wrasses are difficult. Most just disappear in the sand one day and never return.

tough fish to keep. need a very healthy reef with lotsa stuff to eat plus you need to feed them as well, find food they eat, variety is key.

I have one for over a year now been eating pretty much anything I put in the tank. Had it in my 150 for about a month then end up switching it into my 60 cube.

i know there are no guarantee once it's in my tank, but i figured DD would condition to home conditions. has anyone bought one from them and survive longer than 6 months? i wanted to know before i pulled the trigger on one...or is this a wasted gamble like elegance corals?

@maxi - did you condition it yourself? how long did it take? details?

Not sure if ur talking about same pencil I have but I have 2 going on a yr they came in super color then both turned a brown color when first one I added turned brown I added a 2nd because AV would get them in at good price the 2nd also turned brown at first then both colored back up and have kept color really great fish only thing I would say is don't even think of adding if u don't have a top

Died ? Yes I took the mesh-top off to frag some corals and he went on a trip to the floor



This fish is hard to take a pic
Is faster than a barracuda and it just doesn't stop swimming
