NY Tropicals are in

I hit Oak Beach yesterday (June 18) with Noel Heinsohn and although there was a terrible amount of wispy brown algae that made it almost impossible to pull the seine net, we managed to find the first tropical of the year, including this planehead filefish.

Those are the days! Can't wait until warmer weather to start my own collecting.

Agreed. Will probably head up that way to do some collecting of my own when they kick off. In the mean time, will start construction on the expansion to my shark pond. Going from 5000 gallons to about 8000 gallons when all said and done. My Japanese leopards will appreciate the extra room!
