Fish are a lot like dogs, for example: "Do bulldogs bite?"

Mine might but yours may not.

Angels are much the same, I may have a flame angel that eats SPS and LPS like it's his job and you might have one that has no interest in eating corals whatsoever so it's very hard to generalize. I also remember reading on (I think it was wetwebmedia) that dwarf angels change their dietary habbits once they're sexually mature. For some reason once they hit puberty corals become their "Kraft Macaroni & Cheese."

Some however never grow a taste for corals (so I've heard.) :)

this question comes up all the time. it's 50/50. some may, some may not be.

for example i bought a japanese swallowtail angel and these things are supposedly one of the safest angels. mine ate like a pig but unfortunately it also had an appetite for clams.

Do you win every bet you ever make? Do you go to atlantic city with 5 bucks and walk out with a million and do even better in Vegas? Do you find cash on the street on a daily basis. Do you get every chick/dude you ever wanted? If the answer to the above is all yes, then you are a very lucky sob with the best possible karma in which case I would say go for it. Otherwise dont risk it. More often then not they will start doing stuff you will not be too cool with.

it's always difficult to determine captive behavior in a once wild fish. Most cleaning organism become lazy in captivity and in most tanks no longer feel the need to clean for several reasons (such as constant and plentiful food availability and fish that are seemingly bare of parasites and the like). Saying with 100% certainty that a certain type of angel will or will not nibble on inverts is the same as trying to forecast the weather a month in advance with no background in meteorology. Anyone with enough time around fish can tell you that fish absolutely have individual personalities within a species. Angels as a whole are known for their nibbling on inverts, some more so than others, but to take it as the law that one will while another will not is absurd. You can make a wise decision based on the available information and first hand experiences but that is as far as it goes. There is no absolute yes or no with wild animals. Just have a plan B should things go horribly wrong.
