Does anyone or has anyone ever had success with them in a reef setting? I have some zoas. Mostly torches, frogspawn, hammer, duncan. Some Kenya trees and acans. Doing research they say they will/might nip at the more fleshy lps whatever that means.
I'm thinking the smaller I get him the best chance I may have at him not eating my corals or should it be the bigger would be better cause they have been eating prepared foods for awhile

That is great news. How big was yours when you purchased? I've heard/read more success stories then failures so far. Is yours timid? Only asking cause I do have a 5-6 inch purple tang and a 3-4 inch sohal and we all know the temperaments of these 2. I would like a regal angel also but I would have to find a way for these 2 not to harass/bother it to death if possible. If not I may be getting rid of my sohal and purple real soon. Soon like today

when i bought mine he was about 21/2 inches and i also have a powder brown tang that was double his size and he beat him mercesly for a good month i thought that he was going to kill him but he took all the beatings and kept on ticking he finally gave up on torturing him if i had to do it again i would probably keep him in a trap iside the tank just to get the other fish to get use o him

Cool. I just recently bought a acclimation box for that purpose. The one majestic I am considering is around the same size eventhough I have a chance at bigger ones if I choose. Sounds like a strong fish you have

So you would suggest removing my sohal, purple tang and maroon clownfish? I have a 75 gallon fuge and a 125 gallon sump I could place them in. How long would you suggest I put them on time out for? When placed back in they still wouldn't pick on the majestic or the regal for dominance?

Beleive it or not there not bothering him at all. He is still a little skittish but he is out in the open where you can always see him. The purple has just totally ignored him. The sohal will go by him every so often. Nothing violent. Just to let him know he is the king of the tank I guess.

I had one for 7 years with a yellow tang, a gold bar maroon and some other fish. They got along great. The only problem I had was with red dotty back that grew to about 12". It beat up everything as it got bigger so I had to move it to a different tank. My majestic never bothered any corals but I only kept softies in that tank. I kept a low bio load and fed heavily. The majestics are beautiful! Enjoy!
