Snowflake eel wont eat

Hello,

I've had my snowflake eel for about 6 months. 1 1/2 weeks ago he stopped eating. Ive always feed him silver sides. When he stopped eatting I tried shrimp and nothing. He wont even look at the silversides. He is out at night all the time swimming and looks like he is looking for food.

Tank is within all parameters.

How big is the eel? How often were you feed in the eel?
And what exactly are the parameters? Ammonia ,nitrite,temp and salinity

How big is the eel ?and how often do you feed?
My eels are feed every 7-10 days and sometimes every 14 days
They can go awhile with out eating depending on age..
Had my adult hawaiian dragon refuse to eat for 6 months cause of an upgrade
But that's an extreme and the dragons are notorious for it.

15 inches and before this started one silver side every couple days

You try feeding at lights out?
They are nocturnal and most active at night

Yes. I also tried waving it right in his face. Everything.

Wouldn't worry yet,but I'd try something different like squid or octopus
And if that don't work and it's been a few weeks might have to revert back to live ,like ghost shrimp till he starts again then wean back to frozen

Also forgot to ask who else is in the tank with him?
Anyone picking on him ,or better yet anything in the tank missing that he could of eaten ,like small fish ,crabs or shrimp ?

Would garlic extreme work in this case

Try smaller pieces of food? Salmon, flounder and squid are some other foods you might try.

Try salmon, flounder or squid. Maybe treat it with kanamycin. It might have a bacteria infection or parasite and unable to eat.
