i have a 125g fowlr. it's going to be a trigger only tank.
a 2" humu humu is the only fish in there.

i am still deciding to get a niger or not. i don't really like the color. i mean it's only 1 color. not sure if i am able to see it at all............with my black background and black sand. but i do like the way they swim.
are they an active swimmer? what about their growth rate? what's their max size? and what's great about them?

Very small Niger look like they're one color, but as you can see for the picture about they have more than one.

Niger like all trigger are attactive swimmer but just like all triggers as they get larger they can become problems in the tank.

If you get a 2" Niger, and feed it correctly, it should grow to about 4"-6" in the first year, after that it will grow slower. They can grow to about 12"-14" but usually get about 8"-10".

Keeping the two trigger in your tank shouldn't be a problem but as they grow the tank maybe a little small, I'm assume the 125 is a 6' tank. You may need to remove some of the LR to create space in the future.

if u ever need info, let me know, send a PM my way. I've got the same set up. 125 fowlr & black sand. I've got all triggers. in fact i'm selling a few of them if ur interested. I kept a clown, niger and humma together w/o a single problem. The niger is a beautiful fish. It wont blend in b/c it flashes colors of blue and purple. Mine is about 3-4inches, when i got him last year he was probably 2inches. They are very active and have a personality (most fish do) They are eating machines too, so make sure u've got all their favorite foods (krill, clam, squid, silvesides). Swims around all day while the lights are on. Model citizen in my tank.
