help!!!!!!!!!!! Leopard wrasse

Hey guys I got a 120 gallon RR and my wrasse is stuck in my overflow.... what is the safest and easiest way to get him out..... he looks very stressed and hungry.... been missing for two days so i dont think he will last long in there

I used a net to get mine out if u are using a filter sock on ur drains maybe pull th drain pipe outta the overflow and he should drain into the sock as long as u dont have anything crazy plumbed into ur drain ...

i am not sure if i glued mines down but correct me if am wrong, wont that cause my whole tank to drain into my sump via the slits in the middle and bottom of the weir when i remove to durso standpipe?

has your return pump ever been off? if so the only extra water is in the overflow which shouldn't be that much....

i will try and post a pic so you guys can see the room i am working with.... i tried puling the durso but it wont go any further because its hitting against my return line

I've only had to do this once. I have small hands so I would stick my hand on one side and have the net on the other side.

f you are lucky, using a net, you may be able to just scoop him out without removing the pipe and draining the overflow. If your net is too big, buy a smaller one. Otherwise, shut the pump and remove the overflow pipe and the water will drain out of the overflow hole in the bottom of the tank. It will take some wiggling and twisting. Let the water drain slowly so the wrasse doesn't go down. Using a net, scoop him out. I've done this a few times before. I

I've had a starry blenny and 2 black ice clown fish stuck in my overflow for the past month and they're still healthy. I'm going to drain them into the filter sock when I upgrade my stand. I've had a marbled cat shark in the other a few months back but I got him out. Don't worry too much it'll be fine

theirs a double wall, the middle weirs drain up and into over flow at same level. no you won't drain the whole tank.
be careful wiggling the pipe, you don't crack bulk head.

thx for clearing that up for me.... i tried wiggling it out but it is a PITA so i aint messing with that no more..... at this point my next option is to siphon most of the water out that weir, remove the canopy and try net it
