Blue (Hippo) Tang diet?

never had a hippo, now i do!

seems quite the young hungry hippo, but isn't eating much yet (only in tank few hrs ago earlier today)

he costed $50 + tax so i dont want him to die on me! hes peckin at the rock constanty and when i toss spirulina, bloodworms, dry krill in he bobs up and down at the food checkin it out but havent seem him gulp it down like my blackcap pygmy and 6line do.

how do i prevent lateral line? i already don't ever use copper (yet)

How does he seem like 'quite the young hungry hippo', if it's NOT eating?
What is a blackcap pygmy? ...a basslet?
6 line wrasse can become very aggressive !

he seemed hungry nipping at the LR constantly, and bobbing up and down at the food, but didnt actually eat it (was hours in the new tank)

now a day later, it seems he settled in quite nicely and is eating everything i offer (mysis, bloodworm, spiru flake)

albeit only small size fit in his mouth, he on the small side.

blackcap basslet, yea. the 6line is small and has made best buddies with my cherub; they go everywhere together in the tank as a couple.

If you have corals in your tank or plan to ever have em do not use copper!

Feed your tang spirulina flakes and also i feed my tangs 1 piece of nori a day.

+1 on the nori. That's a big part of their diet.

tanks guys will def get a food clip and get some nori sheet in there for little hippo

Mine eats everything and isn't hugely into seaweed sheets for whatever reason. Shrug I feed a lot of different frozen and dry foods...I believe strongly that the more varied the diet the better, for all types of fish, including tangs, which contrary to popular belief, are omnivorous, not strictly herbivorous.

SF Bay Emerald Entree
SF Bay Marine Cuisne
Spirulina Brine
Mysis
Ova (more for the anthias)

Live blackworms

dry flakes - Prime Reef, Formula 2... NLF Spectrum Pellets...

My hand if he's feeling bold and I get in his way. :-D

there is no nutrients in romaine lettuce. It will do nothing for the fish at all... just saying

can I use the seaweed they make sushi with or do I have to buy it from a fish store?
