A Question of Longetivity

Happy new year, guys n gals!

Speaking of, it dawned on me this Jan 1: where is any info (or experience) on average longetivity of common reef/sw tank inhabitants among all the other parameters (size, diet, etc) often provided by species catalogs/venders?

I have mixed bfly koi/sarasa that been with me since over 10yrs ago, yet regretably no sw species.. the shortest lived was my pacific octopus which lived for only 9mos does anybody?

Which fish/motile inverts live the longest? Do snails, crabs, shrimps successfully reproduce in your aquarium/refugium, or do you periodically replace them over the years, decades?

Octopus life cycle is short...I think Paul B have the longest running tank.

Corals can typically live forever since they bud identical twins crustacean tend to die a lot earlier and mature faster than reef fish well become reproductive faster.

So are there any particular saltwater reef fish that are especially long-lived? Ie the MBetta, to me it doesnt just seem hardy, but also long lived, but I'm not sure. Ditto for crustaceans,bivalves- albeit against their odds

I bought a marine beta a lfs over 9 years ago and it was a full grown fish. It was two houses ago. It survived water temps down to the mid 40's when then power went off for a few days back 3 years ago. Still doing very well, along with two 6 year old lion fish it lives with.
