i have two pair of false percs(one of them being black saddleback). they are both in separate tanks. the regular false percs are hosting a RBTA. the black ones have yet to host my carpet. if i were to place both pairs w/ their anemone in a 90g @ separate ends of the tank, will they coexist? please share your ideas and observations if you have successfully kept more than one pair of clown in a tank.

thanks

cool. so you can have more than one female? i'm confused. i thought in a tank there could only be one female and the rest were males.

ink how long have they been in your tank? i see you're trigger happy. i've never seen you post so many pics. :tongue1:

I'm guessing you actually you have 1 pr. of false perculas (Amphiprion ocellaris) & 1 pr. of saddlebacks (Amphiprion polymnus).

Don't forget, the anemones may change their location, bringing the 2 species of clowns into each others' "territory. Never a good thing.

WTF?! Don you're posting pics? Are you gonna start letting people into your house next?!? :lol2: Niceeee pics toooo

Jon,
I guess you could place it on opposite ends of the tank, but its still only four feet and them anemones might move. Maybe the carpet anemone clowns wanna be in the RBTA :teeth:

Jon,
I have noticed in your picture that you have a Regal Angel.
I love this fish and would love have one of my own when my tank is mature enough.
My question to you about care difficulty degree and angel’s coexistence with a reef setup.
Please provide few observation details/tips for my and others members education.
Thanks,
Ben.

scuba that is ink's regal not mine.

one thing i know is that they can be very picky eaters. when you purchase a regal make sure it's eating. if it's eating when you purchase it then you will have a better chance of keeping one alive. i have also heard stories of them picking @ LPS. angels are hit or miss. some may and some may not pick @ corals. good luck w/ your decision.

scubabr53,

Ink,
Do you have any mushrooms in your tank? Can you list all other Regal Angel save corals that have home in your tank. I would try to match your environment with understanding that there are no guarantees.
Thanks.

It's not just that there are no guarantees, it's more like hit or miss. I have seen the result of a regal put into a tank overnight, devastation to a beautiful lobo. I have also heard of regals that don't chow down on much of anything. My advice would be not to try to simulate the conditions in Don's tank, it really won't make much of a difference. If it helps, they primarily go after softies and lps and I find feeding fish well(that are accepting prepared foods) often will pull them away from their normal feeding behavior and prey and vice versa.
