So the other week i was at max reef and was deciding between a midas or lawnmower blenny. Long story short i went with the midas because i had one before and really liked it (plus coloration is imo much nicer than lmb).

its been a couple weeks now and the midas is great, already established himself as the dominant fish, at times even nipping at my clowns.
But now i am back to the reason i was looking for a blenny in the first palce, help with algae.
I dont have much algae but an herbavore would be a welcome addition to my talk to help. The midas, while looking great, doesnt even look at algae.

I am wondering now if i made the right decision. but really wondering if my 29 gal display with 2 clowns and the midas could have a lawnmower too. I believe my system could handle the extra bioload but am wondering if the two blennies will fight since they have similar body shape.

does anyone have these two fish in the same tank? if so what size (i know i might be cutting it a little close)

I don't have that exact combo, but I did try to put a Grey Watchman Goby and Midas Blenny in my 29g Biocube and they fought mercilessly until I removed the Goby. My blenny has been very docile otherwise.

Given that experience, I wouldn't recommend trying it. I believe they will look too similar and will fight until one is dead.

For the algae problem- I would recommend looking at what is causing the algae, rather than how you can "mow it down". What are your params, lighting, feeding, etc?
