Today I observed the following behavior on two of my clown fish.

These two fish are about 2 years old, and have spent the last 4-5 months together in my sump. Today I noticed both of them scraping their belly against a rock, the smaller fish (the male i guess)seems to be doing it more then the bigger one (the female i am assuming). They scraped their belly, swam upside down and just danced around always in the same spot as if they were cleaning it.
Is this a sign that they are building a nest?
Thanks

Usually next building is more along the lines of them biting at rock to clean it off. They will repeatedly bite the same area.

Usually the behavior your talking about is them laying eggs.

If you look at the female do you see anything sticking out by where the butt is or is she really fat.

I watched them for about 5 minutes before I went to work, they might have been biting on the rock, when I get home today, ill observe better. Wow I hope they spawn, never happened to me.
