Anyone see the football sized frog fish at New World?

Poor thing...

Why poor thing? Did you put that fish in small tank? Well, as long as they keep the good water quality, they really don't need big space. They hardly ever move anyway.

It is a super cool fish though! Hopefully someone will buy it as a showpiece for a big tank.

Hopefully someone who knows how to take care of frogfish will buy it. I'm curious what can be kept with it. I don't know of any fish that would not fit inside that guys mouth...

I heard it's the best he kept in his own tank. Tank size isn't the biggest problem, you just need to keep good water quality since they are very messy eater.

I saw really nice frogfish, about 3 inches long, in Fish Tank in NJ. He was eating everything. Pretty fat little guy. Yellow one. I think they were selling for $80. Wish I had a separate tank for him.

I just saw this guy... very, very cool... He's green, yellow and grey and BIG. He blends in to the tank so well its hard to see him at first. They want around $450 for him. If I had the money (or) a big enough tank (or) fish it wouldn't eat, I would buy it in a heartbeat :)

frogs can (and I have witnessed this) eat anything approaching their own size. They are just a mouth and stomach with a means of moving to the next meal. They don't need a lot of space but they are sensitive to acclimation. Once established they are very hardy. You need good filtration just because of the bulk of the animal they aren't messy eaters and can be fed a few times a week tops but they do produce a lot of waste.
