Cleft lip trigger?

So I picked up a bluethroat trigger on sunday for a steal. I didnt really look at him to long in the store I just grabbed it and left. When I had it in my sump I noticed his mouth look like it had a cleft lip. It can still eat and swims fine and looks healthy but will the lip eventually heal and grow back? Looks real freaky

No he is fine. He is eating like crazy. Probably just skinny because the store didnt feed it properly. I just got him it will fatten up

For 30 bucks I took a chance on him. Its eating and swimming and moving fast to get away from the achilles. I just want to know if fish skin will regenerate. Anyone?

If it's damaged yes if it's a birth defect no.
