this seems to be hit or miss. some says it kills their clams, shrimps, pecks on sps, eats all their zoos. some i've seen in nice looking clams, sps n other softies. go figure.
I have seen many reeftanks with CBB. I have also heard a few stories where the CBB developed a taste for a fleshy coral, zooanthids or clams.
I plan on adding one to my tank, if it starts to pick at anything I will have to live with it. (I can live without the zoo's in my tank, if it goes after one of my maze brain corals I will have to figure something out)
A CBB is on my short list of possiable fish to add to my tank. I have mostly SPS , with a few zoo polyps on some of the rock work. My wife insists on having a "flat" fish, but they all see to have their problems.
He can have the Zoos and Dusters. I would like to add some clams, and am worried about them picking at the mantle. Anybody have a problem with them and SPS.
Agree!! the end result of every single CBB I have bought.
They are slow eaters and can't compete with fast eating tangs or the more agile anthias in my tank, but they are also the only thing I find works on my aptasia problem.
edit:
I had a few CBB over the last few years and never had one that bothered any zoas (I wished they did), SPS, LPS, softies, or clams. They only go after small dusters first and then aptasia.
Initially I bought one to take care of my aptista problem. He is one of my favorite fish right now. Takes some time to get them adjusted and feeding, I personally had to go through a variety of foods (both live and frozen) but he finally has a healthy appitite. Doesn't really bother anything in the tank, aside from aptista, but then again I don't have any clams etc. Would recommend one, don't know until you try, plus they are to beautiful to pass up.
