Can anyone direct me on what could possible be wrong with this fish. It's seems to want to eat, when i try to take him out he hides under rocks where i can't reach. My test are all good. :help:

Why do you want to take him out?

How long have you had the Hippo and also what size in the Hippo? What other tank mates do you have?

Hippo usually will hide when you first get them, until they become comfortible in the tank. Also very small Hippo, about the size of a quarter or smaller, have a very bad track record of making it.

Stop with the brine Shrimp, as it has no nutritionally value, and get some Formular II, specially with the other tangs that you have. Also get some Spirulina Flakes.

I wouldn't worry about it if it's only 1 day. Give the fish some time, also check and see if the fish has any diseases, like ich, as Hippo are ich magnets and can easily come down with it.

You shouldn't treat the tank for ich usually you know you have ich. You shouldn't start treatment for any disease until you know what your fish have. That could be the problem with the Hippo acting funny.

What copper or medicine did you use and what test kits are you using, to measure the amount of Copper, you have in the water. You may have to much copper in the water and that could be the problem.

Here is a link of Diseases:

I have a better one but I don't remember it, need to look it up tonight.

Sign of Ich vary amount fish, usually you see white spot on the body, fins and eyes, flashing, scratching, laboured breathing, white film on eyes, fish jumping out of the water and fish not eating and being listless.

I was just about to say the same thing.
3 tangs in a 55 is a disaster waiting to happen.

It might very well be suffering from stress.

Definitely also do not treat a whole tank with medicine, unless you know what you are treating for , and who is infected.

Finally, what are your water parameters?

If you didn't use copper what did you treat the tank with. If the Hippo had white spots then you should have remove it from the main tank and treated in a hopsital tank.

What about your other fish, do any of them have white spot or showing any other signs of ich, like I mention above.
