The other day i put a little bit of my dog treat in to the tank, just to see what the fish would do. Well they loved it. I was just curious what you guys think?

People feeding large carnivorous fish dog food isn't that uncommon. I tend to see it with catfish and peacock bass.

I feed some swans locally and it was suggested to me by one of the marine rescue foundations that dog kibble is one of the healthiest foods we can feed them.
Go figure.
BTW - back when I had my Oscars..one of their favorite treats was Purina Cat Chow :fish:

I agree with the others that fish will practically eat anything. But I not sure if its good for the fish's long term health. I would stick to marine type foods. stuff from the fish market, always prepare properly. My logic is that their bodies are use to breaking down marine type tissues. If you start giving them foods that are not something they normally eat they will likely develop issue with their health down the road.

Just my opinion! Do as you wish.....
