clown gobies

I had a yellow and a green clown goby had the green for eight months never touched an sps. I bought a yellow about three months ago within two he was nipping corals. I caught him and placed him in my FO tank then the green started to nip, then to consume entire colonies. After a month and 500 dollars in sps with out catching the little f***er I tore down the tank and just rebuilt today.so after thinking I could have cute clown gobies and sps together I just wanted to let anyone else know its not worth the money, time , or lower back pain lol. experiment failed.

I tried the clown goby experiment also and failed. Cute fish, but in a tank full of frags its a bad idea. I've read that large colonies can withstand them though.

I don't think so I had large colonies and ive heard they wont kill the sps colonies just make a nest in this situation he would not bother the one he perched in just the rest of them he even took a couple bites out of my clams mantle

I had a green clown goby for 5 years and my current one is about 3 years old. I have LPS and no problems. I did hear that yellow ones were a problem and I tried one but he died within a few weeks.

there not a problem with lps its sps they eat the small polyps as long as you don't have sps then you wont see how un reef safe they really are

Just finally caught the yellow f----er, you called it cute fish but was eating acros stylos and his favorite was my damicornis.

tell me about it I lost over a thousand dollars in sps twelve colonies including my Ora birds of paradise how did you catch him?
