lol, based on the little information you provided I suggest you call 911.

Usually, people describe the illness or disease or post a picture of the fish as it is today and ask for help in identifying the problem.

If you can get ahold of a cap full of formalin into a qt tank , IMO is your best bet . Formalin by kordon works wonders on all diseases fresh or salt.

From your other post... a 30 gallon tank that you said you put him in is horribly under sized!!!!! Its a saltwater fish so i hope its in saltwater and the tank that you put it in did you even cycle it??? Clearly this fish wont survive with what you have. Bring it to a decent fish store and maybe get a good store credit.

I don't think the fish is necessarily diseased. IT BELONGS IN SALTWATER TO LIVE. It will die in freshwater.....although I would have thought it would have died within hours in freshwater. Strange.

They are weird fish. On ver rare occassions peplle have had success with them in fresh/brackish set ups but chances of that happening is extremely rare and horrible trial and error on a rare fish in the hobby

bumblebee grouper

Through last minute efforts, I did everything possible for this beautiful fish. It lived two weeks about, then suddelnly things changed last night. I am pretty sure its dead now. I see no movement, and can only say the prior owners were as cruel to not be honest wirh me as to type of fish. If they're intentions were to rid the fish, they could've not chosen us. We are lovers of animals, fish, birds. Im feeling pretty bad now. I only just found out his type, and was helpless. Im not sure how to tell if hes dead for sure, but there's no movement. Gosh I feel terrible. I even put him back into larger tank to see if hed perk up. But sure hes gone. Thanks everyone for your comments. If I'd only known sooner...Kelly

Gotta wait till fiance comes home to remove him. Cleaning up etc. Does anyone know how to dispose of this type properly? Is there something Im suppised to do? Hes pretty big, 14+ inches..tks again.

Hi Thank you all for your help. Yes the monster grouper did die. I promise as soon as we found out the deal, I did everything possible, including these shoutouts. Several people were quite surprised that he was actually what we claimed upon finding out, especially being his size. Now, someday, with proper setup, knowledge and tank, we would welcome another in hopes it would live a long life. Thank you again. Yes we did get cheated, but the biggest loser was that gorgous fish! He didn't deserve to die.
