Those are black worms? I've tried feeding mine the last time I tried to train them while treating with cupermine. I tried with one copperbanded and 3 long nose butterflies, but they all failed. They'll sample the worms once, but then that was it. They also lost their appetite for mysis (I'm thinking the copper makes them taste bad?) and would only eat frozen brine the 2nd week I have them. Needless to say, on brine, they starved, though I tried to get them back on mysis after the cupermine treatment was over (week 3).

Copperbands are carnivores. Try feeding them pacifica plankton dipped in vitamins. It's high in protein and a natural food they find in the wild.

Mysis and brine are just fat. Not healthy for them even though they get nice and fat.

Sometimes all folks feed are mysis. Down the road these fish die a sudden death and hoobyist can't figure out why. When marine biologist perform a necropsy they find lots of fat infiltrate in the liver and other major organs. This reduces the lifespan of the fish in captivity. Supplementing their diets with meats dipped in vitamins is very important. They should be given foods found in their environment. Their metabolisms are designed to extract nutrients from foods found in the ocean.

Those newborn brine and their egg sacs and the clams are a really good diet for many carnivores. The egg sac on the brine makes for a highly nutritional food. The worms and mysis are HUFA. When combined with other complete nutritional foods they are very good. It's no wonder thery've lived as long as they have.

All my fish get live worms, fresh clams, new born brine shrimp and Mysis every day. That is all they get and some of them are 19 years old. Also out of my 25 or so fish about 18 of them are spawning.
