I put purchased a tank raised Bennett's butterfly almost a week ago from a LFS and while he swims around exploring like crazy... And looks fine so far, I haven't really seen him eat. He usually swims right by the food in the water column but he also does peck at the food but it doesn't seem like he's actually eating any.

So far I've tried; frozen and dried mysis, clam, squid, dried plankton, green and red flake, roasted nori... That's all I can remember. The store said it ate frozen mysis and some small pellet food that the fish farm it came from uses. They don't seem to sell that though.

Anyone have any experience with this fish or advice?

Thanks!!

Tank Raised

I dont know if it was explained to you about what tank raised means.

From what i understand they collect them very small and raise them in aquariums.

These are still wild caught fish.

Try Hikira Mega Marine, its has all kinds of goodies

Thanks RareClown - I'll give that a try. I wasnt really sure, but he sort of explained as since they were raised from itty bitty in a tank they have been raised on available flake/frozen food - as opposed to coral polyps, etc

Even thou they are tank raised they are still wild caught fish. They still were eating their diet before they were taken out of the ocean.

Do you have any corals?
