I just got Choati Wrasse and will do everything to keep him alive !

Beautiful wrasse and very hard to keep. They are pickier then the Mandarins.

Very nice and difficult fish to keep. I picked up a pair of Leopard Wrasses about a month ago that I now have eating flakes, those are my most delicate and expert fish as of now.

Gorgeous fish. Good luck with it. You'll need it. They have an abysmal record in captivity even among super advanced aquarists.

That is a gorgeous fish. I am starting to believe in DONT add anything that is labeled expert only in a newer system. I tried copperband in my old setup that was up for a few months with no success. My current system was running close to 2 years before i added a mandarin,copperband and cleaner wrasse and 9 months later they are still alive and thriving. Also staring long and hard at a fish in a LFS im talking 30 min or more even leaving it and coming back the next day to see if there was any change in the fish before purchasing is also a good way to determine if it has a fighting chance.

I hope this thread doesn't encourage people to try 'expert only' fish...they are given that title for a reason.
Unfortunately many new people consider themselves 'experts', if they have kept a damsel alive for 30 days.

Yes, definitly... I put my mandarin to the main tank where i have a lot of pods and slowly teach her to eat frozen food now she is in my breeder eating only frozen food and she is fat like pig

Well, do you feel like I urge beginers to keep sensitive fish?
I decided to try one sensitive fish and want to see if anybody else has any just to share some informations and pictures.

Like I'm running kalkwasser mixer to keep stabile pH cause this fish like it, like every Monday my lsf getting for me one gallon of live brine shrimps cause I see my fish are happy eating them...
Like anything I can do to help him feel good

You are not serious, are you?
Not all fish can go to the quarantine tanks, especially type of fish like this wrasse...
QT can only stress him more and/or kill...
I not call myself an expert but I'm in this hobby few years

For difficult fish I set up a quarantine tank that has live rock and sand with canister filtration. Excellent way to closely observe and feed

Sorry, that's not what I said/meant...I meant that seeing people (who may not be claiming to be experts) try these fish, is ALL the 'affirmation' that some people need to also try them.
How many times do you a see a thread where someone asks if a certain fish is OK' to try...he gets 30 responces that say NO, but he keeps asking till someone says 'go ahead, try it'...and guess what!

IMO, everyone should try to keep stable params...in every tank

can that fish survive on brine shrimp? many 'experts' say there is little to no nutritional value!

I don't agree with you about the QT

I've been into SW for almost 40 years, don't claim to be a expert, and have asked MANY people here questions, and for help!
I am NOT judging you for trying that fish...I hope it does well...but I think I'd rather see this thread started, after you've had the fish for a year, and could tell us your secrets to success!
