Has anyone had any success breeding blue eyes please chim in. I have a mated pair which are breeding. I have a third one which only schools with them at night and when they are scared. The male keeps spitting out the clutch causing a feeding frenzy...hopefully he'll get it right soon and I can get him out of the DT.
Here is a pic of them...I'll take a pic next time he is holding

Nice job Mike! I've seen mine holding egg clutches as well, but I've never tried to raise them, or even track what happens to the clutch. I wouldn't imagine it would be that difficult to raise them if you could isolate the father? mother? are they maternal or paternal mouth brooders? I'd say a call to Todd Gardner is in order.

thanks guys..there is very little info out there on them, but from what I've found they breed just like the Bangaiis and their young's requirements are the same...hopefully Todd will be at our next meeting and I can pick his brain alittle..

We have a small school in the flat frag tanks at Fauna and there are usually 1-4 individuals holding eggs. There aren't many other fish in with them and there are plenty of hiding places for the young. They've been doing this for months but I have yet to see any fry anywhere in the tank. I was thinking of making a surrogate urchin for them but never got around to it.
