Hello everyone,
It is a great feeling to know there is some place to turn for advice from knowledgeable enthusiasts . My name is Jim, I'm from Long Island NY and a commercial net fisherman. My objective is to keep Menhaden,Spearing, and ghost shrimp live. I currently have floating round cages with circulating pumps that work pretty good.
However birds are a big issue as well as rising and falling tides. I'm in the process of trying to set up an outdoor tank. It's a little over 2000 gallons and will be running 6 months a year on land. The top can be covered and locked so it will cover the bird problem. It's located near the dock where my boat is kept. I will be pumping raw salt water from the bay into the tank with a direct overflow returning to the bay.
My question is what's the best way to clean algae from hoses and pvc pipe? Also what would you recommend for an air diffuser in this application? Thank you in advance.
