Schooling fish

I have a tank that measures about 43X30 inches, but it is only 12 inches deep. I'd like to have a school of smallish fish. I have some green chromis, but they seem a little bland. Any suggestions?

Tank volume is only 57 gallons. Reef safe, nothing known for jumping.

The same first came to mind...
Very calm fish, wont jump out your overflow tank...
They always stay together.

as mentioned blue eyed cardinals are my best schooling fish.... more so than anthias etc.....this two I believe just paired off from the rest...

Someone is selling one here now, but it's a smaller system.

make a mesh top so nothing can escape and get fire fish , they school

Can't put a top on this tank, so no known jumpers.

Cardinals are your best bet. Chromis tend to kill each other off over time.
