I want to buy a hardy eel that stays within 2feet or less. Im looking into snowflakes, skeletors, and golden morays. Can someone tell me which is the easiest eel to care for? I plan to put it in my 30 gal for now and move then in 4 months to a much larger tank. I plan to buy the eel 5 inchs to 12 incches

All eels are pretty hardy. What else is in the tank? The skeletor and Golden will be much more violent than the snowflake. As a rule of thumb eels with a rounded head are more peaceful than the classic morray head. All eels though will eat anything that will fit in it's mouth whole. I've had Zebras and snowflakes i could hand feed and a Tessalata that would try to take fingers off if I got too close.

But want to add, you either have visible signs of ich or you don't.
Ich is inevitable even in completely healthy systems. And it is possible we all have it at an unseen level.
The goal is to keep your livestock healthy where they don't catch it.
And as stated above, don't add anything until you are at that point.

I have a skeletor eel in my mixed reef tank with loads of small fish and inverts. He is 19 inches long and doesnt harm, touch anything in the tank. He allows my fire and skunks into his mouth to clean. If he attempts to leave the rock work my yellow tang literally swats my eel in the head and the eel goes right back into the rocks. My skeletor eel is 100% reef safe and awesome looking rare eel. I got him from DD. It is my favorite and is a crustacian eater. Anyone who tells you different does not own one and has NO experience with one. They dont have teeth and if they do i cant see them when his entire mouth is open. He is blind as a bat and relies on smell. I only feed shrimp with selcon and he seems happy. He CANNOT catch a fish...period!! Nor does he even try. I WISH he would eat my sally lightfoot crabs, but like i said he is 100% peaceful. I would recommend this species.
