Hi,
My bangaii cardinal just died on me suddenly. Only had him a month, he wasn't eating the regular flakes, brine shrimp I was feeding the other fish daily but would eat raw pieces of shrimp once a week.

I did add another powerhead to the tank this weekend. Its a nano tank so was the flow too much for him? I know they stay still most of the time so maybe he didn't have anywhere to sit still. He wasn't gasping or struggling last I checked. It just happened suddenly, Water params are as follows.

salinity 1.026
ammonia 0
ph 8.4
nitrates 5-10 ppm
nitrites 0
phospate 0

lol flow wasnt too much for him. maybe it was just his time to go or like reaper said. but looking at ur setup 12g tank with that much rock, sand and fish maybe the oxygen in the water is depleted. i could be wrong but u probably didnt actually have 12g of h20 in there with all that rock and sand. if anyone can chime in am i right or wrong?

Eating once a week is not going to work for most fish. He probably starved. Cardinals are easily intimidated by other fish so that they don't get to eat. If it was a baby then it has even less a chance to make it versus other lively fish. The order in which fish are introduced to a tank is very important.
