Lets be a little more precise in our terminology here. My flame wrasses ( and this is not at all uncommon) spawn regularly--pretty much every night. I do not breed them, nor have they ( or any other wrasse that I am aware of) been bred in captivity.

This always gets me, Randy -- thanks for that clarification. My specialization is Seahorses, and I hear all the time about how someone's horses, "Have babies every couple of weeks." Ah... but how many of them have they raised to maturity? Most likely, zero. I have three (yes, that's 3, out of about 100) H. kuda that were born in June that are doing great, and I'm counting that as a great success! This has been a big learning experience for me and I'm sure I'll be able to do better in the future. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Todd Gardner was my mentor in this process.

At any rate, yes, breeding, and rearing, SW fish is a whole other ballgame from FW. The SW community is lucky to have people like Todd who are willing to share information with us mere hobbyists. I can't tell you how many FW people I've known who have their "secret" techniques. I detest such people -- they put their wallet (oh, yeah, they're going to corner the market on some stupid fish) above conservation and captive breeding.

Sorry to go a little off topic on this thread, but couldn't help sounding off.

Yeah, Doug, I'm sure Dom can get you a very nice pair of Flame's!
