I was thinking about this and im sure there is a new answer from everyone that will post. There are different wrasses that do many jobs and tangs that take care of algae but after all the the fish i have owned my answer is the cleaner wrasse. He is always cleaning up the fish even if they dont want it.Its like he is saying if your going to live here you are taking a shower.Which is pretty much what he is,a personal shower for my fish. I know the cleaner shrimp does the same type of job but the fish have to want to be cleaned and swim over to tem. This guy just cleans them non stop. Its cool watching him get into the gills and watch the fish its cleaning turn almost all the way on its side but when they had enough they will let him know. So far my most beneficial fish ive owned

I finally found some help from bubble algae infestation(if the right word). My newly acquired Naso Tang. I beleive it should be at least medium sized though (4-5 inches) inorder to be grazing on these algae. My Yellow Tang helps her also with hair algae.

Cleaner wrasses could also be a nuisance to some fishes so be careful.

The most beneficial fish I've owned was my goat fish. They would clean up all of the excess food laying on the sand bed or at the base of the rocks where they would meet the sand. It was a huge help because of how much food I dumped in the tank :lol2:
